Director/Manager, Project Development & Acquisitions

Working location: Sydney, Australia 

 

Primary responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Deliver value on a portfolio of utility-scale PV development assets through a combination of greenfield, mid-stage and late-stage development, project analysis, risk reduction, and deal origination
  • Conduct due-diligence and analysis on new opportunities 
  • Manage all aspects of solar PV project development from greenfield origination to start of construction
  • Secure site control through land scouting and negotiations of agreements with landowners 
  • Manage consultants, external stakeholders, and other third parties to ensure project success 
  • Manage budgets, milestones, schedules and deliverable for assigned development projects consistent with targets 
  • Direct the preparation of budgets, schedules and presentations to senior management 
  • Work with other departments regarding purchase of power, project proposals, project financial modeling, and arrangements for finance 
  • Maintain timely communication and reporting with senior management on all project activities. 

 

Solar Development Experience

  • Proven energy project development experience (most preferably including utility scale Solar PV) 
  • Demonstrated successful delivery of projects into construction phase and/or COD 
  • Extensive knowledge of the full-cycle of utility-scale renewable power generation development and marketing 
  • Extensive knowledge of interconnection, permitting, real estate, state/federal regulation, utility procurement goals, policy, law and other issues that impact development of renewable energy projects 
  • Specific knowledge and experience managing full transmission interconnection process for energy projects.

 

Transactional / Finance / Negotiation Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the renewable energy industry participants (potential partners) and stakeholders 
  • Experience in negotiating and executing contracts, and managing counterparty relationships 
  • Understanding of what makes a project financeable and ability to quickly identify risks and mitigation measures 
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and relationships simultaneously including consultants, attorneys, and other third party vendors. 

Language skills

  • Fluent in English
